Here comes the third trimester....baby seems to be healthy and happy so far.
As a pregnant lady, I've found the following items extremely helpful/delightful:
1. My snoogle. It is a C-shaped pillow that D got me for Mother's Day. He's good to me...This pillow makes sleeping with my growing watermelon belly so much more comfortable.
2. Tums Refreshers.
a. They soothe my heartburn.
b. They are minty fresh.
c. Can there be a better combination? I submit that there cannot!
3. Watermelon. I've eaten so much of this that I wonder if I have a watermelon growing in my stomach instead of a baby.
a. It is sweet.
b. It is hydrating.
c. It is crisp and refreshing.
4. Lemon and ginger herbal tea.
a. It soothes an upset stomach.
b. It calms acid reflux and heart burn.
c. When you put ice in it and add a bit of agave nectar, it's quite tasty.
Here's hoping they'll continue to soothe my pregnancy aches and heartburn throughout the summer!

Baby Girl
Our baby is made of sugar and spice and everything nice, if the nursery rhyme is to be believed! We're having a girl!

Out of the Mouths of Babes
On Christmas Day, my husband and I decided to go to church with his sister and her family. They have three children between the ages of 18 months and 7 years (approximately). While the parents sang with the choir in Sacrament Meeting, D and I sat with some of their children in the audience. Their daughter, who will be starting kindergarten soon, sat next to us and decided to draw portraits of us during Sacrament Meeting. See below:
My husband is on the left and I am on the right. Those proportions seem pretty accurate.
Now for the next portrait:
You must look closely at this one. My husband is on the left again and I am on the right. His niece was quite observant, really. He was a bit scruffy that day (hence the green dots on his face), and the shirt he was wearing was blue. I am not exactly sure what kind of creature I look like, but notice that there is a baby on my lap. When I asked D's niece about the picture, she said "that's Uncle D, you, and the baby."
I was speechless. She did not know that I had taken a pregnancy test that very morning and the results were positive! Out of the mouths of babes....
Even though we found out on Christmas Day that we were going to have a baby, we kept our news quiet until the first trimester was over. Now we're excited to share it with others, and we look forward to welcoming baby into our family this fall.

And the answer is....Mount Fuji!
I know it's been a while since I posted this trivia question, but sometimes life happens and blogging doesn't. :) The photograph is of Mount Fuji. Isn't it pretty? My dad adores Mount Fuji. Every time we caught a glimpse of the massive mountain while on our trip, he'd say "there's Mount Fuji," and half of the time we'd stop what we were doing to take more pictures of it.
When the skies were clear, my parents had a very nice view of Mount Fuji from their sixth floor apartment. They'd refer to clear days as "Mount Fuji days." On other days, the sky was gray and foggy and the mountain would sit quietly, cloaked in clouds, waiting for its turn to take center stage again.
